New series of Top Gear starts tonight.

They are a bunch of shallow twats, but somehow...

I run into the problem of liking a TV show and then feeling meh later because I lose touch with the characters and story. It happens often enough that I spent a long time without any shows e.g. I only ever watched Arrested Development last year.

The critics of that show are full of shit btw and the last season put up by Netflix is excellent.

The Apprentice.

It's an utterly staged train wreck of idiots at the beginning of the series, which I can't help but watch in sheer disbelief at how they can even show it on TV, and by the time it gets boring because only the vaguely sensible ones are left, a frustrated curiosity claws me into finding out who wins, - at which point I promptly realise I don't care in the slightest and forget all about them, promising myself that I will not watch it next year.

But I do. :fp:
[Disclaimer - if this is comes across like I think I know what I'm talking about, I want to make it clear that I don't. I'm just trying to get my thoughts down]

I used to, but to be honest it was like some kind of self-abasement that was originally for schadenfreude but ended up making me furious. I admit I liked nothing better than watching the bunch of self important deluded idiots just bicker and fight over the most trivial things. The constant bad drama and wrongheadedness of all of them made it a kind of socially acceptable perversion of voyeurism. Don't get me wrong I new it was trash for idiots, but I couldn't pull myself away season after season. Still I did finally manage to stop watching Question Time.
