First, I want to extend a big thank you to the pre-invasion members here. This is a huge transition for all of us, and so your gracious welcome means a lot. I recognize many of you, but I was never a prolific poster over at the other place, so you may not recognize me. (I've reverted to my original avatar in the hopes of jogging a few memories.) I hope to be a much more active participant here--at least once I've had a chance to figure out where I will fit in. From what I have seen so far of your warm, cozy home, it will be a pleasure to get to know you all much better.
I'll be careful not to trample the flowers or thoughtlessly rearrange the furniture.To my fellow recent RDF transplants, I am so glad to see how many of you made it here. I could just about weep!
A little bit about me: I'm a full-time SAH mom, part-time artist, and avid amature consumer of all things science. I love to read sf/f and watch action movies. My mom passed away this last summer, and so I am still struggling to deal with that big hole in my life. My husband, a math/physics teacher, is a fellow non-believer who loves his strategy/Eurogames (I do not), but is not much of a forum participant. My sister and some members of my extended family are hard-core believers, so I am still learning to navigate those tricky waters. Oh, and most important of all, I love cheese!
