Did you get an notification when we activated your account? This applies to accounts activated in the last week or so, and you can PM me if you don't want to post here.
Thanks for helping make rationalia a better places.

I can't find any settings to do with notifications, only the registration settings, which are "By admin".

Check port settings.
The board software uses port 25 for SMTP by default, but your host may use a different port, or may force SSL/TLS.

It's set to use the local PHP mail function, so no port setting required.

Yes.
I could have missed it but it's a 30 day limit, so very very unlikely.

Thanks. We needed to know that. Now I'll notify people of activation via my personal email account.

Didn't see a notification, but can't say with quite 100% certainty that it wasn't in the spam folder. Pretty close to 100%, but not quite.

You're assuming that the host has php.ini setup correctly... Which I've found they frequently don't.

No! I just tried to sign in on the off chance and bang, I was in. No notification, though. I waited in all day, too

Actually, this I found rather peculiar: I got an email confirming my account details, but never one that activated it. Seeing as there were at the time some administrators online, I thought it worth trying my account as I could not imagine the administrators here being doubly incompetent - and I was right: the account had been activated despite there not being an activation email.

We are filtering activation requests due to the number of forum spammers out there. (One site lists 195,000+ known spammers.) In the future we'll have a separate email sent to each new activation as part of the approval process.
General note: We're only human, so mistakes can be made, as I proved recently. So if you're waiting for a friend to be activated it probably wouldn't hurt to go through the "Banned Spammers" list when it's been updated to make sure your friend wasn't caught by "friendly fire" (stupidest phrase in the English language.)
