Just had a look at this hideous thing on Wiki. What a strange fellow. And so UGLY. Why did you choose it? Is it of some specific scientific interest to you?

I wanna be a Marine Biologist. (But at 39 I'm getting a little old to start all that school stuff) So I just like reading and watching programs/articles about sea life.
Anyway, a few years ago, when I started joining online forums, I wanted an unusual name. Well, at the time I was reading Deception Point by Dan Brown, and this strange sea critter got a mention. Bathynomus giganteus. So I get online to check it out.
I was like "That is one cool dude scary arsed looking, yet harmless mother! Which provides a very important service to it's environment"

Or sumfink like that.

I deliver to the OU. Earth science department. I like looking at their rock display outside. They have fossilized coral! And some Amethyst Quartz. 8-)

I'd have to go to school and get some A levels or stuff like that first. And I'm a bit of a thicko anyway.

Methinks you need to recalibrate your sense of "UGLY," stripes4. Those are some beautiful creatures. Though, perhaps, not quite so beautiful as this:
