The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

Where to start! In the end it was all the fault of the russian hookers, they made him punch that cop and then strangle a nun with her own rosary bead thingy. Nothing any of the rest of us wouldn't do

Where else could you go from the taste of raw egg to licking marmalade off tits in such a short space of time?

This is not a good or funny story. In fact it is in a way an apology to MCJ for hurting her feelings so much that if she only ever cursed me again she would be well within her rights to do so. I lost my temper on Saturday night. I don't lose it often but when I do I say unforgivable things and this is what I did on Saturday night. I was a complete and utter bastard. MCJ was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, it could have been anybody that crossed me at that moment. She was not aware that she was pulling a pin out of a grenade with what she said and under normal circumstances I would not have reacted in the way I did. She just got the full blast of my upset at that moment, and for that I am truly sorry MCJ. I don't think things can be mended between us and I'm not asking for them to be mended just for her to know that I am sorry and humiliated by my own despicable behaviour. I also apologise to those who witnessed the incident.

Oh, CJ... That truly is awful. I am so sorry for both you and MCJ. We all have weak moments.

We are all only human, now I won't argue with you when you say you are a complete and utter bastard, in fact I may use that as my sig, but I digress, I hope that in time, and with plenty of contrition on your part MCJ might eventually forgive you.CJ wrote:This is not a good or funny story. If not we can always bring you to Ireland and horsewhip you.

There was no need for you to make this public (I had no intention of mentioning it here or on any of the fora) but thank you.

What I did was public so my apology should also be in public.

Hell, I'm a cranky old bastard myself, it is probably a damn good thing that I am half way around the world from most of the forum, and you only see me through the rose-coloured glasses of the internet!
You are all good people!

I'm glad this just happened, I'm gonna have to admit that I thought there'd be tension between you two on here now as well.
It's not easy to apologise, especially in front of a lot of people you know.

I could not let it fester here. What was done can't be undone but one has to make appropriate reparations where one can.Paco wrote:I'm glad this just happened, I'm gonna have to admit that I thought there'd be tension between you two on here now as well.

"The fact is that far more crime and child abuse has been committed by zealots in the name of God, Jesus and Mohammed than has ever been committed in the name of Satan. Many people don't like that statement but few can argue with it."
Re: Well hello
Having met you and spoken with you for a while I hear what you type as if you were saying it to me directly in your accent. Odd, or is it?. Once I have met somebody the same thing usually happens. I hear what Bella types when I read it as though she were speaking it to me as I have spent hours on the phone with her. However with JimC it's more like reading a newspaper report as I have never met him.Paco wrote:What?
