For those newcomers that fear they will lose some of the hard hitting, intellectual cut and thrust of arguing the ins and outs of atheism vs religion, faith versus rationality and so forth while here rather than 'there', let me reassure you that there's plenty of that here.
Religion, you see, it turns out, is crap.
Welcome aboard and argue otherwise if you so desire..

We have just witnessed that any organization where a holistic individual can impose any action and expell the followers who dare to disagree, is crap...
Religion it happens to be just one expression of those organizations.

*sigh of relief*
I was going through withdrawal there, not being able to vent over religious topics.

"Another aspect of the particulateness of the gene is that is does not grow senile; it is no more likely to die when it is a million years old than when it is only a hundred. It leaps from body to body in it's own way and for its own ends, abandoning a succession of mortal bodies before they sink in senility and death" -Richard Dawkins' The Selfish Gene p.34

Oh venting is fine - it's just we don't have anyone from
the other side here.
Which is why I like the place.

Actually one of the RDF refugees is a theist(or at least an "I'm an Atheist...BUT") so hopefully there will be some argument to spice the day

If you mean Jerome, he is our favorite theist, and a perfect example of my maxim "Hate the faith, but not the faithful..."

Religion is carp. Hence the fish logo.
