Taxpayers are going to be giving their hard-earned cash in order for the Pope to visit the UK. If you agree with the quote below, please visit the link and join the 11,000+ signatories that think the Catholic Church should pay the way.
We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to ask the Catholic Church to pay for the proposed visit of the Pope to the UK and relieve the taxpayer of the estimated £20 million cost. We accept the right of the Pope to visit his followers in Britain, but public money would be better spent on hard-pressed schools, hospitals and social services which are facing cuts.

I read the thread title as "make the pope gay..."
He cost Oz a fair bit when he visited a year or so ago...
Good luck with the petition - I suspect it makes more sense for UK citizens to sign it...
Nurse, where the fuck's my cardigan?

Signed and submitted, then got this reponse: Sorry, due to high traffic this website is currently unavailable, please try again shortly.
Not too fussed about it. Pro forma petitions always go straight into the recycle bin.

Looking at the thread title again, one surefire solution occurred to me, and it is dead easy. Change a single letter. Make the Pope gay!

And despite protestations we paid for it anyway

Yes, that was a big fail for the forces of rationality...
As usual...
