Stephen Baldwin on Celebrity Big Brother

Post by Chauncey Gardner » Thu Jan 07, 2010 11:03 am

I normally avoid these shows like the plague, but get this...the little brother of the actor Alec Baldwin, Stephen, is taking part in a reality TV show in the UK called Celebrity Big Brother and guess what? he's a fucking religious nutjob of the highest order!!!!!!!!!

It's absolutely brilliant to watch.

yesterday he coerced the other house guests to sit in the living room and listen to passages from the bible.....and he's being going on and on about jesus..the bible etc. almost constantly since he entered the house.

he even came up with this hypothetical, where his daughter is sitting on a bus and a guy with a gun sticks it in her face and asks her if she believes in jesus. Baldwin would tell his daughter to say "jesus exists" to the gunman and he will "see her in heaven"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Check out this wonderful video clip, where Baldwin is challenged by another house guest over the bible and he responds by asking him about "oxygen"...

un-fucking-believable stuff. the best advert for how ridiculously ridiculous religion actually is I've seen in a long time.

It has indeed been brilliant.

I also chuckled at his assertion that his wife had to love God more than him to make his marriage work, how the Holy Spirit binded them together because of their love for it; how other marriages (not as good as theirs obviously) broke down because they lacked the strength of said Spirit - Mrs Dev and I should have been divorced years ago...

What makes this show especially brilliant is that you know, you just know, that at some point someone is going to snap and they will tell him to shove his bible up his sanctimonious, preachy, know-it-all arse.

My money is on Heidi Fleiss.

@devogue. I agree. Although Baldwin does have a very punchable face, so I'm guessing that Mr. Jones might beat heidi to it. Incidentally, she comes across as an interesting character.

Wouldn't it be great to send in a certain Mr. Hitchens into the house?

Too easy for Hitch!

Wasn't it interesting how Baldwin backstabbed Stephanie (and said "fucking") to Sov while Stephanie was reading the Bible.

Sov is desperate to confront him about her homosexuality, but she's also a bit scared. Heidi is a real sharp cookie - did you notice how when Baldwin summoned Sov from the bedroom Heidi told her to carry a plate out so it looked like she wasn't answering his call.

They need to get rid of that fucking waste of space Nicola thingy and anyone else who might break up fights, but Baldwin definitely has it coming, the creepy fuck.

Poor Stephen, relegated to reality shows.

I'm glad he's entertaining you guys on the other side of the pond, he didn't do as well over here.

That's because "over there" this is absolutely commonplace and boring. Over here we find it outrageous, crazy and hilarious.

I was thinking if I was the BB producer, who would I send into the BB house for maximum entertainment...

my shortlist is very short....just one name and that is Christopher Hitchens.

Other names that cropped up were: Richard Dawkins would be too polite and maybe too impatient with the intelligence on offer. Stephen Fry is writing a book. Jimmy Carr is quite witty with his anti-theism sentiments but might be too offensive. Ricky Gervais is a well known anti-theist, but, he did a big parody of Big Brother in his TV series Extras.

Send in The Hitch :food:

I just looked at that clip now. I can't believe how epic a fail it is. It cut off so I didn't see the reply. I hope there was someone there intelligent enough to point out the serious flaw in what he's saying.
