Said Peter...what you're requesting just isn't my bag
Said Daemon, who's sorry too, but y'see we didn't have no choice
And our hands they are many and we'd be of one voice
We've come all the way from Wigan to get up and state
Our case for survival before it's too late

Did Pappa ever get in trouble with Rebecca?

One can get in trouble with Rebecca, who...er.. has a thing about guys.

I tried. I may try again. I'll assume it's my deficiency in appreciation that colors my view of the video as smug and smarmy. So I discounted that impression and gave the ideas a chance. I got parochialism and bland ignorance: Propounding of supposedly authoritative Christian doctrine regarding which is the 'holiest' Christian holiday on the basis of which has been made official in the American civic calendar. Christmas is an American civic holiday (Good Friday is not) which demonstrates that Christmas is Christianity's holiest holiday. Maybe it was meant facetiously, though there is no indication of that. Seemed a reasonable moment to give it a rest.

Weird alright. It has never occurred to me to wear pantyhoses. Not for Easter, not at any other time of the year.

Sniffing them, on the other hand...

It's a clever and balanced video essay. I can't see anything to disagree with.

The context is the statement that "It is not the right time to make a joke on the highest religious holiday in Christianity".

I am well aware of that. I don't understand your point.

Twitter is not a platform for debate or discussion. From it's initial 150 character limit it's developed a culture where all subtlety and nuance has been abandoned in favour of shouting it's users emotions into each other's faces and posting content to gain attention. Nonetheless, however toxic and bankrupt I might think it is it's also become a feature of social and political life - a given for anyone under 30: like mobile phones and zero-hours employment contracts.
