And yet science has been a far more productive and life-enhancing endeavour than millennia of tree worship and goat sacrifices. The value of the cosmos is it's existence: the value of our understanding of it, incalculable.superuniverse wrote:But a scientific view of the cosmos is "value-free" - it just is.

When considering the ethical treatment of humans, animals or the ecosystem, values become very important. However, they are not relevant to a dispassionate understanding of how the universe actually works...superuniverse wrote: ↑Fri Nov 19, 2021 8:17 amBut a scientific view of the cosmos is "value-free" - it just is.

Re: Scientific Proof Of God
God creating everything is the simplest and easiest explanation for how the Universe came into being. SInce you can't even create a grain of sand out of nothing we would love to hear your simple explanation for the existence of the eternally immense universe.Hermit wrote: ↑Fri Nov 19, 2021 5:34 pmWho is "we"?superuniverse wrote: ↑Fri Nov 19, 2021 4:57 pmWe also slice and dice, as you will learnHermit wrote: ↑Fri Nov 19, 2021 8:27 amCorrect.superuniverse wrote: ↑Fri Nov 19, 2021 8:17 amBut a scientific view of the cosmos is "value-free" - it just is.

God creating everything is no explanation for how the Universe came into being at all. The attempt to explain its creation just moves "I don't know" one step back by breaking the "everything must have a cause" principle.
Speaking of nothing, when are you going to provide your "Scientific Proof of God"?

You have trouble with 1+1 = 2. Do you think you will understand metaphysics? I might as well be talking to a dead dog. Others are not as foolish as you.

Metaphysics is vacuous hand waving and philosophy without evidence.
Real physics is careful, rational, evidence based and empirical.

Re: Scientific Proof Of God
The people who have examined my papers in philosophy over three years at the tertiary level - including metaphysics - decided that I have.
Stipulating that all things must have a cause, then asserting the existence of an entity that does not, is wankery of the first order.
You still have not provided scientific proof of such an entity since you started this thread more than four years ago. The chance of you providing such proof any time soon, or any time at all for that matter, is as close to zero as one can get.
