I heard this guy speak at a Skeptics in the Pub meeting last year. The things he had to say about fundie, christian, faith schools in the UK was frankly shocking. At the time, he mentioned how hard it was to get anyone in either government or media to take his concerns seriously. Finally, on the back of the uproar over the "Operation Trojan Horse" allegations regarding the infiltration of hard-line moslems into British schools, it appears he has hit the headlines. Currently No.2 in the "most-read" stories on the BBC website!

That the kind of bollocks propagated by these so-called "educators" is partly state-funded in the UK is sickening. Let's hope that this exposure farces the government to crack down on religious indoctrination under the guise of education whatever the religion.

Interesting that the shit only hit the fan when it was about fundamentalist muslims, not fundamentalist christians. It may well be that the former is a tad more dangerous than the latter, but one gets a whiff of racist or anti-immigrant feeling from the difference in response...

Well, chretinity is the state religion in the UK, so a bunch of fundies who don't rock the boat could settle in and do a lot of damage without being bothered.
