I'm saying Dawkins is a intellectual cripple for not taking on the economists first since in this day and age they hold 99.99% of the irrational control power humanity.

Where you are going wrong, is assuming that economists have actually affected the economy.

What actually happens is that governments pay them big money to advise them, then ignores what they say, in favour of doing whatever will get them votes.
It's sound economics. For the economists.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.

Same difference once they 've traded the solution for the puzzle.

There are only a few competing versions of economic theories, and some of them actually make sense ... some of the time.

One of my friends wrote an introductory economics textbook a few years ago for university students. Maybe he's really a prophet of some sort.

That task is admirably addressed by Nasseem Nicholas Taleb.

Both seem to have a terrible misunderstanding of reality. Unless I've misunderstood the purpose of economics.

The difference is easy to spot: It is not impossible to live without religion.

It's not impossible to live without economics (the academic discipline). We did it for most of our history.

Maybe, but I suspect that economics as a discipline has existed in some limited shape or form for thousands of years, except it was not called economics.

Not at all easy to live without an economy.

Yes, but the futility of the activity was more obvious when they were poking around in the entrails of a still warm goat or chicken, instead of equally useless formulae.
