First, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled in 1987 in Edwards v. Aguillard that balanced treatment of creationism and evolution violated the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment. Then in 2005 the U.S. District Court in Pennsylvania ruled against the inclusion of Intelligent Design in the science curriculum. As Judge Jones wrote, “To be sure, Darwin’s theory of evolution is imperfect. However, the fact that a scientific theory cannot yet render an explanation on every point should not be used as a pretext to thrust an untestable alternative hypothesis grounded in religion into the science classroom or to misrepresent well-established scientific propositions. The citizens of the Dover area were poorly served by the members of the Board who voted for the ID Policy.” Now it appears that the citizens of Indiana are being poorly served. If this becomes law, our citizens will have to foot the bill for the lawsuits that will certainly ensue.

Real christians of any conviction will continue to fight like tigers against evolution, because hey are honest enough to recognise the death-knell to religious delusion it presents...
Social christians can afford not to care, since, deep down, they don't care either...

"real" Christians? Never met one. However, the xtians with the most to loose from a shift in the social paradigm (JimC wrote:Real christians of any conviction will continue to fight like tigers against evolution, because hey are honest enough to recognise the death-knell to religious delusion it presents...

The vast majority of people here are Christian only when they have to be. The rest of the time they're no more religious than I am.Social christians can afford not to care, since, deep down, they don't care either...

Re: For the IDiots
I had a holy roller landlord once. I had to break the lease. I told him two weeks ahead. He made me meet at his church. I sat thru the sermon, poor student. I think he just wanted me to see his money is going to the church. He kept the security deposit and was kind enough to tear up the lease.
Real Christian. I told him I was Christian. I heard it from Zappa, if you are Christian, you get pussy. I figured a security deposit was the same thing.

IIRC, the tab at Dover was picked up by a Creationist/ID firm. (It's been a while since I've studied this stuff.)
