I that case, it would be at least as harmless as circumsision, but with the benefit of a real benefit.

Sadly, I reckon the "God Spot" is the same spot we use as infants and children to learn useful stuff from our parents. Like baby teeth, we ought to discard it in due course, but I guess the comfort blanket it offers if we don't is too attractive (and I doubt the big business of Corporate Christianity would ever want the masses to let go).
