Yes precisely. It occurs to me that the word, as you say, describes something that does not actually exist and is predominently used by theists (they seem to be good at that) as an oppositional belief system, an anti-religion perhaps. If "atheism" exists, as some people claim, then it is a mishmash of similar political outlooks first and non acceptance of the concept of the reality of a physical creator entity, second.

You cannot build a movement round an absence of an idea and thus "atheism" is a nonsense.
