Pissing on a mosque..

I popped down the road to a Sunday late opening shop earlier this evening. We don't have many Muslims or in fact many people from any 'ethnic minorities' in Cumbria, in fact it is the lowest as a percentage of the population in the country, but we do have a small mosque just down the road. It is two terraced houses knocked together and you would hardly notice it except for the grills at the windows and a sign saying 'entrance around the back'. At the right time of day you see a few Pakistani looking guys going in to do their prayers etc.

Anyway as I drove past this evening a white middle aged guy was standing in the alley at the side pissing on the wall of the mosque. I have no idea if he was caught short (there's a pub not far away) or he was making some sort of statement.

Nor will I ever know..

In Italy people piss at church walls, usually parts of the building that are somwhat hidden. It amused me to see notices at such places saying "Respect the sanctity of this location".
