It's amazing how many people don't realise that the "under God" part of the Pledge of Allegiance was only added in 1954 thanks to the campaigning of the Catholic fraternal organisation the Knights of Columbus.
Then there is the forging of quotes to make it appear that the 'founding fathers' were more Christian than they actually were:
Washington never said this, of course.

This revisionism and spreading of lies makes me ill, and even more so to see those who so unquestioningly swallow it. (Sorry, too early for much coherent expression here - I just had to get it out!

The pinheads lie a lot, either knowingly or by repeating other people's lies. And when they're called on it, they don't care. "Liar" is not a pejorative for them, simply descriptive.

Thanks. I love it when people expose liars.
Is that first graphic some sort of a parody? I can't imagine a "Ministry of Homeland Security" coming up with something like that.

I'm tired of christian fundamentalists hijacking laws, we should go back to the religious laws we had in the US in the 1790s.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

Seraph - yes, that first is a parody, but it's so expressive of the flag-and-bible-waving self-righteousness that lots of ignorant believers feel.

Yes, I have, but both are using white nail-polish, so I can't tell which one is the parody.

Neither.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

Please don't falsify historical quotes. What Ford did say was: "You can have the internet in any colo
ur you like as long as it is American."

Well, preferable certainly...
