Atheist flyering

Post by Halogenetic » Tue Mar 08, 2011 1:45 pm

Here is a design for an atheist flyer to "ram atheism down their throats" with. The objective is to hold their eyelids open like in A Clockwork Orange until they can never listen to the Jonas Brothers again without feeling physically sick. 5000 A6 flyers with one side greyscale costs around £200 I think on medium thickness card. All and any feedback very welcome as it's expensive if a mistake but I think attacking Pascal's wager is a good main theme as that's more like mental healthcare (tackling fear of hell) than insulting.

Grey background is a mistake. Go to the supermarket find the most popular breakfast cereal and copy their box color and text font. Your selling a product not just a message. Go with what works.

How does one discern the popularity of the breakfast cereals? One side needs to be greyscale for the cheaper printing price AFAIK.

Mohammed preferred young girls. What do you think of the logo? Do you "get" it? I designed it myself. I'd print it on a t-shirt perhaps. Not for profit mind you - that would be unethical and just look at what happened to Timonen when he saw all that money. Good to have a logo though even if the brand isn't for sale.

Looks great Halogenetic! How activist of you. It's a lovely logo, too, and what's wrong with printing it for profit on T-shirts? You created it for yourself (vs for RDF), so there's nothing unethical about that.

To be honest, I don't like the last quote though. I would avoid personalizing it and criticizing 'the religious' and comparing a religious person to a victim of abuse. Instead of criticizing, I would find a good quote that says something positive about atheism...if you are trying to open people's minds about atheism, I wouldn't give them anything negative to associate with atheism even if it is a statement about religion. It sounds a bit arrogant, which is one of the things that the religious often characterize atheists by.

I would also add some contact information...what if somebody wanted to know more? Get yourself a free email address and put that down.

No problem with your idea .. and I like the pic ... though it's kinda 'out there', while humanity is ... here ... though I see that's part of the point ... Image

I'm interested in the proposed inclusion of the rationalia URL ... I'm a member of ratz and I'd rather you didn't include the url in a message you wish to spread.

Me too. Imagine the embarrasment for me if this site become well known and my name was associated with it? Not on account of the atheism but all the other stuff.
