Can't argue with logic like that. Well, you can argue, but you know sure as shit ain't chocolate flavoured that the twat's fingers will be in his ears and he will be going, "blah blah blah blah blah."

The comments, as usual, are fun to read.

Those comments are the best part!

Jesus is getting ready to take his church home and that's what we need to focus on as Christians getting ready to leave this world for Heaven.

Re: Obama a christian? No way!
I find the logic curious, and I marvel that someone actually wrote that and thinks not only that it makes some sense, but that it is rock-solid and irrefutable.
The guy says that Obama is not a Christian, because a Christian knows what happens to us after we die and Obama said he isn't sure what happens after we die. What does the writer say is what happens after we die: well, if we believe in Christ, then we die but we don't really die - we shall have everlasting life, after death. But, that doesn't really tell us what happens to us after we die, does it? It says hat SOMETHING happens to us - i.e. that there is eternal life after death - but it doesn't say what happens other than that. We are still left with the question of what happens after we die for that eternity. Do we just sit there? Float around? Do we rejoice? Is it pleasurable? Neutral? Do we do things? What is it that "happens" after we die.
Further, logically, Obama can't answer his daughter's question with any certainty that SHE would even live after death. Perhaps his daughter will not believe in Christ, and then will not receive that everlasting life. So, as to her, Obama would be presumptuous to assume that God would grant his daughter the grace of everlasting life.
Obama is most certainly a Christian. Not all Christians subscribe to the "know-it-all" theory of Christianity, that we are certain as to everything. Some Christians leave room for a lot of growth in their knowledge. Obama professes himself to be a believer in Christ, and he attends church services regularly. The fact that he is uncertain about what happens after death does not disqualify him as a Christian, since the requirement of being a Christian is to be a follower or devotee of Christ. Christians can even not accept Christ as divine and still be Christians, and they can be agnostic as well. Christians can be humanists, and in fact Christians were among the leaders of early humanism.
Obama is definitely a theist and a Christian. He has consistently wrote about his faith, and how he relies on it. He has attended church for decades. He has made policy decisions which advance Christianity in many ways. He expanded the faith based initiatives, and expanded the practice of building and rebuilding places of worship all around the world (not limited to Christianity). There is not an ounce of proof that he is anything other than a Bible-believing faith head.

If he doesn't beleive in one of the fundamentals of christian teaching (that when yer snuff it yer sit on a cloud etc - guaranteed) then you are simply not a Christian. it's like me calling myself a christian because I've been to church services. and don't worship the sun.
he might be a theist (of some sort / of his own creation). or an agnostic. or a searcher. but he ain't a christian. simply being nice to people doesn't make you a christian - even if inspired by Jesus.
he ain't alone in that of course.
Of course the various christian religions ain't too fussy nowadays on exactly what their followers beleive in (and have usually invented themselves) - they can't afford to be fussy.

No, the central tenet to Christianity is believing in Christ.
Uncertainty about 'life after death' means nothing at all.

That is not what the article said happens after death, and that is not what the Bible says happens after death. The Bible does not teach anything about "sitting on a cloud, etc." That is a non-Biblical concept, and one need not believe that to be a Christian. In fact, to believe that you will sit on a cloud after death is non-Christian.Santa_Claus wrote:Coito ergo sum wrote:The fact that he is uncertain about what happens after death does not disqualify him as a Christian, since the requirement of being a Christian is to be a follower or devotee of Christ. If one believes in Jesus Christ, then one is a Christian. One can be illiterate, never having read the New Testament, and believe in Jesus, and under every major Christian theology be saved. There are many divergent concepts in different denominations. The Calvinists like the Presbyterians believe in predestination and election - salvation is through grace of god alone and not through anything a person does, says or believes. Others, like evangelicals and born again Christians think you have the free will to choose or reject Christ and that salvation comes through acceptance of the gift of Christ's sacrifice for our sins. Catholics believe you have to accept Jesus as the Son of God and also as God, part of the Trinity, and keep the commandments and refrain from sin, as well as confess and be absolved of sins, etc.Santa_Claus wrote:

Obama can believe in Jesus Christ, accept his sacrifice and salvation, keep the commandments, refrain from sin, etc. - all of that - without claiming to know what happens to him after death. A firm belief as to what happens to us after death is not necessary, and Christian denominations differ on their conceptions of what actually does happen. The Bible is very unspecific as to exactly what happens and does not provide a detailed description of heaven or hell (although it is more descriptive of hell). Most of our common conceptions of what heaven and hell are like are from non-Biblical writings and myth, like Dante and whatnot. The Bible says nothing, for example, of demons with beards, thorny erect phalluses, and pitchforks - all that is non-Biblical.
It's not just "nowadays." There have always been sects and differences of opinion, even before the Protestants came around in the 1500's.Santa_Claus wrote:

Re: Obama a christian? No way!
Heaven will have a beauty beyond our imagination. The best John could do to describe heaven was to say it was like an entire city of transparent gold. He says: The walls of the new city are precious jewels. The gates are twelve single pearls. The city itself and its streets are pure gold, yet like transparent glass. This is found in Revelation 21:18, 19, 21.

I think Obama needs to address God better toget re-elected, which he wont. But he WOULD, if he became a snake handler. He should fly there every Sunday and hold the snake.
