Origin of Faith - Disturbing (Graphic)

Post by Tails Turrosaki » Wed May 12, 2010 9:31 pm

Thank you for the warning, Tails. A most unpleasant film to watch.

It appears to be a dramatisation/reenactment of actual practice: http://www.hakani.org/en/about_making_of.asp - Charlou

Found this on YouTube.

Spoiler'd because it will be incredibly disturbing for some of you. It's a video of children being buried alive... Real? Fake? I'm not sure, but it all looks like acting to me (or reenactment). Now, I didn't have any sound while this was playing (speakers are broken), so I'm not sure if there's a narrator or not, but it's going to be graphic for some of you. Apparently it's for Christian purposes and showing how "evil" these African tribes are. Sorry, I was wrong. This is for atheistic purposes.

It's all censored for 18+, so you'll have to make an account or something... Maybe, maybe not. Now, I think this is just staged or something, but either way it's going to be hard to take, isn't it?

So, a few things...

1. Do you think this is real or fake?
2. Is it a good thing that Christians atheists are attempting to exploit this and show how "evil" it is?
3. How would you feel if this was your son or brother or sister or whoever, regardless of whether or not this is real?

Discuss, debate, whatever.

Again, definitely going to be graphic for some of you.
Trigger Warning!!!1! :

What does this have to do with the "origin of faith"? It seems more like a very unfortunate result of faith, not the origin.

So it's just another example of atheists using tendencious, imprecise and incorrect language to make religion seem more depraved then it actually is. I'm getting really fed up with this activist atheism.

That's the worst acting I've ever seen.
Libertarianism: The belief that out of all the terrible things governments can do, helping people is the absolute worst.

And of course there's more to this story.
http://www.survivalinternational.org/about/hakani
http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/2008 ... cide_N.htm
Basically this film was made by a bunch of missionaries who are out to portray the Native groups as barbaric but apparently can't even verify that this even happens in real life. This film seems to be made to put religious people of Brazil at odds against the natives and their beliefs.
