The face-covering veil is set to be banned within weeks in Belgium, making it the first country in Europe to make the wearing of Muslim clothing illegal...

So you're calling a burka a "wank fnoglet". I see.
So you are saying that the reason why God created the universe, including millions of years of human and animal suffering, and the extinction of most species, is so that at the end of all of that a select few humans could be with him forever. I see.

Ah, you weren't here for the infamous "Belgium" wank fnoglet incident.

I did check to see if the date of the article was April 1st, though...
Belgium really is leading the way on this!

I for one don't agree with this, firstly, all they're doing is treating the symptoms of female oppression in Islam not the causes, and secondly they've probably just created a bunch of future terrorists, so well done there.

A symptom? It's actually more akin to setting a bone.

To pick up on your second point, the threat of violence from a bunch of delusional idiots is a reason to NOT do something, that could be considered "right" ?
I'm sorry, that line of reasoning is cowardly to me.

Of cause it's not a reason, but since there's no real reasons to ban it in the first place, it is an effect of pointless legislation.

Sure there is. Every fight begins somewhere, and this is a law explicitly forbidding, quite specifically, Islamic bigotry.

As I said before, it's fighting the symptoms, not the cause. Not to mention the fact that the state is telling people what they cannot wear, to paraphrase an Arab proverb, it's the first straw on the camel's back.

I don't give a fuck, quite frankly. The burka is telling women that they're the root of all the problems in the world. This law is telling Islam to STFU.
It's a win no matter how you look at it.

It's not a win for freedom of expression.
