New book - Moses and Jim Jones

Post by mindyourmind » Sun Apr 18, 2010 7:45 am

As this forum's pre-eminent theologian, I am finalising my new book : "Moses and Jim Jones - two cheeks of the same arsehole" (Woo Books, 2010).

As the book will convincingly show, these two great religious figures show the following similarities :

- both caused a lot of harm in the name of the non-existent god ;
- both were murderers ;
- both talked to god, and god talked back to them, and neither of them thought that to be odd ;
- both had great difficulty in settling down and convinced people to follow them to strange places ;

There are, however, the following differences :

- Moses didn't really exist, which is a minor irritation as far as the book is concerned ;
- Moses didn't have Koolaid ;
- Jones didn't speak to burning vegetation, as far as we know.

So watch out at Amazon, it is expected that the first four copies will fly.

:ddpan:
So you are saying that the reason why God created the universe, including millions of years of human and animal suffering, and the extinction of most species, is so that at the end of all of that a select few humans could be with him forever. I see.

I'll sign one for you. It's a hardcover with pictures, including photos of my new car, and can be yours for $350,00 plus $400,00 postage. Thank you for the support :ddpan:

I'm not sure that it sounds AS intriguing anymore- I'll borrow Ashton's copy when he's finished it, or get it from the library! :what:

At that price, I think I'll just wait until somebody scans and uploads it. Then I won't have to unass this chair at all. :tea:

Cheapskate ! How can you measure the true theological and historical value of a priceless book like this in dollar value?
Think of the generations to come. Think on the payments on my new car, :tantrum:

Yeah. Well. I'd have to un-ass this chair to make the money to buy the book, so...sorry. Consider a discount? Say, the amount of cash I have in me pockets at the moment? :mrgreen:

Yeah, I think you'd need to ban all other books in the world and shut down the internet to sell a copy.

Would it be presumptive of me to request express shipping? The murder part sounds fascinating. I can hardly wait... :pop:
