More Evidences for God

in that old thread, i gave these 2 evidences for existence of a intelligent creator. read them there for full details. here are the short versions for scientific minded people.

where else did matter come from if not created by God; and who else makes things so pretty if not God?

1. existence of beauty is evidence that there has to be a designer artist.
2. existence of a big universe is evidence that there has to be a creator.

matter and pretty matter points to existence of a powerful and beautiful God.

Beauty is subjective. After all, everyone has there own taste in what beauty is. One man might assume a god created a woman that is beautiful; however, the next man might never even give her a second look. Some people differ in what cars are beautiful. Some people might think Mopar muscle cars are far more beatiful than GM or Ford muscle cars. People's taste in what is or what is not beautiful different..

beauty is not subjective. saying so is subjective.
what you are saying is that if everyone says that particular thing is ugly, that it must be ugly. well, thats just bollox.

there is such thing as beauty and its existence proves God designed it. pretty things point to God.
go back and take another look at divine work of art.

So god designed the beautiful things, but not he ugly things. Otherwise if god also designed the ugly things, you are saying the existence of beauty proves the existence of god, and the existence of ugly also proves the existence of god. What about things that are neutral?

So if god didn’t design the ugly things something else did as we postulating a 'designer' worldview. Lets call this other designer god2.

Beauty has to be subjective. It only exists in our experience created by our brain. Just start with the realization that the experience of color is not in the thing out there. The tree is not green. The tree is reflecting light in a certain way. The brain interprets that as "green" and creates the experience of green. Calling something "beautiful" is only acknowledging an emotional bodily state produced chemically as a reaction to a subjective experience. It FEELS beautiful. The beautiful awe-inspiring sunset with it's variegated hues of yellow and orange and pink is not out there. It is an experience that is entirely inside your head and in the state of the chemicals coursing through your body. What is out there is a bunch of photons bouncing around through the air pollution in the atmosphere.

mate, you can say the same thing about anything then cant you. thats why its bollox. there are true things out there, i mean facts, solid things, things you can touch and things that have weight like fat women. they are not subjective. they are real. fit women are real. dont tell me they are just in my imaginination. they are not. all that pleasure i get at weekend is real. i know mate.

I don't argue with your experience of God for a minute, or with your attribution of the experience of beauty to God. What I argue with is your assertion that that experience is "objective". God is real, and God is archetypal (our brains all tend to create our experience in a similar way), but God is not objective and does not exist objectively as the thing we experience, any more than the tree out there is actually green.

i just told you mate. you are mixing up real and objective with unreal and illusion.
