I'd have punched the bastard, or at least threatened physical harm. That is fucking unacceptable. If I ever catch someone doing something similar to my little brother I'm slaughtering them.

I think if you can laugh the thing off like Ani, that's great. And that's probably the best course of action. But, like you, I can't help but think, given similar circumstances, I would have reacted with anger and perhaps even violence.
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

Violence? Are you fucking serious? Are you three?

I'm just saying that's how I might have reacted, but that's me. I have a bad temper. But are you saying that if someone came to your door and molested your child, you might not react with anger and violence?

lol. No child was molested.

Religious indoctrination is too close to child abuse for comfort.

So let me get this straight. Two people come to your house and start talking bullshit to your kid. In order to set a fine example on how to deal with irrational beliefs you punch them.

WAY TO GO!

lol. No child was molested.
Indeed he was. Molest means to pester or annoy. But I chose that word knowing its more common specific connotation, because to me it's pretty much the same thing. Someone was fucking with Charlou's child. I know if I were in her place I'd be pretty pissed off, and I'm not sure I'd be able to keep my cool like she did. But like I said, that's just me. I'm not really very good at controlling my emotions.

Obviously not if I consciously think about it. I'd probably tell them to fuck off, but my respect for this sort of person is so low that I wouldn't hesitate to resort to the lowest form of interaction to get rid of them. Furthermore I'd probably be pissed of as fuck and be overcome by a wild desire to beat the living shit out of them, regardless of what I know to be right or not.

He wasn't pestered or annoyed, the kid found it amusing as far as I can tell.

Which is why you would a brilliant target for any would-be trolls.
If you get so damned angry over it, then you're giving it more credit than it's due.
If they came to my kid on the street, while I was standing right there, I'd rightly tell them to fuck off and I'd be furious. If they came to my house and a kid happened to answer the door, they're doing what they do no matter who answers the door. I'd tell them to fuck off and I'd be a little annoyed that they interrupted by BLT minus the LT.

Maybe it's the Swiss in me, but that's far too much of an intrusion. I don't have kids, but even imagining them telling my (highly imaginative and slightly emotionally unstable) little brother about burning in hell gets me unbelievably pissed off.

I tell utilities salespeople to fuck off sometimes. If someone tried brainwashing my kid I'd either tell them to fuck off or chase them down the street.
