I am as certain that god does not exist as I am that I Do.

Why?

I am probably somewhere between 100 and 1 milllion %.

For me no god(s) is as obvious as no pink unicorns. or a squillion other weird things.

for me that's just how it is. to be honest I don't need a rational / scientic explanation of things that go bump in the night etc etc. I am comfortable not knowing stuff without any desire to worship around my ignorance. otherwise my toaster would be on an alter. and a squillion other things I don't understand.

I guess I lack the gullible gene

FWIW when me Missus fell off her perch a couple of years back it was only afterwards (in discussion with someone) did I realise that the god thing had just simply never occurred to me at the time - not that I had considered and discounted the idea of praying etc. in exactly the same way as I never gave a thought to digging a hole to China.

I am 100% on the basis that nothing exists to change or alter that 100%. There is no evidence, no suggestion, nothing whatsoever anywhere to indicate presense.

By contrast, there is exactly what we would expect if there was no god or deity.

Yeah, that's what I've figured.

Kinda funny to think that many (most?) Christians from the established / traditional Churches aren't actually Christian. Not there fault - there Churches long ago left Christianity behind.......

I have photographic evidence that he is real!!!
I'm wild just like a rock, a stone, a tree
And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky
And I'll surely die, just like a flower plucked
And dragged away and thrown away
And then one day it turns to clay
It blows away, it finds a ray, it finds its way
And there it lays until the rain and sun
Then I breathe, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I grow, just like a baby breastfeeding
And it's beautiful, that's life

Is it possible to be a fundamentalist atheist?
What are the fundamentals?
If a fundamentalist theist is someone who asserts that _______ is absolutely true, then a fundamentalist atheist is someone who asserts that ______ is absolutely not true. Now we all know that the burden of proof is on the party making the positive claim (in this case, the positive claim is that some magic, supernatural entity exists), but, despite not being able to demonstrate any evidence or proof, that doesn't necessarily make the claim incorrect. Thus, an absolute denial of anything based solely on a lack of evidence is every bit as erroneous as absolute faith in spite of lack of evidence. Again, this does not necessitate a 50% chance of any presumably nonexistent thing existing, it just means that there is, however insignificant, a chance.

Fundamentalist Christians aren't asserting their bible is true, they're staying true to their scripture which insists itself that it is true. Fundamentals.

I think the fundamentalism discussion could just about be a thread on it's own.

I have no problem saying I'm 100% negative that Jehovah Made the world in 6 days a few thousand years ago and then spoke directly to Abraham, Moses and a few others; knocked up a teen girl to make a son which was also Him, whom he had executed to appease his own wrath and allow whoever buys into all that crap to live forever after they die.

It's 100% not factually true, this I know because observed reality tells me so.
I do not see how saying this makes me anywhere near as irrational as a fundamentalist religious person.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

What does Observed reality tell us about a deity? Well, so far it has told us that nothing we have encountered has ever needed a divine explanation or origin. On the evidence we have, a solid conclusion is viable. I am 100% conclusive on the issue because there is nothing anywhere to suggest any other conclusion.
