Well I know that! :hehe:

I want to find the contradictions and bull myself rather than from a website. I'm well into Genesis already and they are coming thick and fast.

Basically I want to feel confident when arguing with people of religion that I know THEIR stuff better than they do!

Yes, but remember that they probably use some bland and boring New International version, whereas you're probably reading the classic King James version.

Let Bible Gateway be your friend - it can instantly switch between numerous versions. :read:

All them prophecies are screwed up. It is written that Judas will point out Jesus. And then a few pages he does. Why couldn't Moses predict what Judas and Jesus will do?

Now if they published it as a book... I'd be interested.

When I was still in my teens, the serial of Billy Liar was on the telly, and as far as I was concerned at that age it was a bit raunchy for its time, and so watching it with my parents I always felt I had to pretend I wasn't listening. And in one episode for some reason Billy was talking about the "naughtiest bit" in the bible, and he gave chapter and verse, and I pretended I hadn't heard, while I was in fact making sure I remembered. And then, when I thought enough time had passed for no suspicion to be aroused, I left the room, found a bible, and had a look. It was Ezekiel 23:3, and it was about these two girls who "bruised the teats of their virginity" or some such.
Pray, do not mock me: I am a very foolish fond old man; And, to deal plainly, I fear I am not in my perfect mind.

Blah blah blah blah blah!

Memo to self: no Lir chocolates.

Life is glorious.

Because at least half of the things said in NT to be 'prophesied' aren't to be found anywhere in OT in the first place.
The writers made up stuff and said it was 'prophesy" to con the stupid, and lo, it worked even better than they could have hoped.

Reading texts that long onscreen taxes my weak concentration powers even worse than paper books, and I find it harder to place a bookmark on a website to remind me where I left off.

Not that hard, just drag the tab to the row above it and you have a bookmark.

Did you brings your own bible and scissors to the bible class? Take out these sections:
Although the Book of Exodus describes a period of Hebrew servitude in ancient Egypt, more than a century of archaeological research has discovered nothing which could support its narrative elements— the four centuries sojourn in Egypt, the escape of well over a million Israelites from the Delta, or the three months journey through the wilderness to Sinai. The Egyptian records themselves have no mention of anything recorded in Exodus, the wilderness of the southern Sinai peninsula shows no traces of a mass-migration such as Exodus describes, and virtually all the place-names mentioned, including Goshen (the area within Egypt where the Israelites supposedly lived), the store-cities of Pithom and Rameses, the site of the crossing of the Red Sea (or, more commonly among modern Biblical scholars, the Sea of Reeds), and even Mt Sinai itself, have resisted identification. Scholars who hold the Exodus to represent historical truth concede that the most the evidence can suggest is plausibility.

The Egyptians kept records as to how many cats were sacrificed to Bast each day. Not noticing tens of thousands of foreign workers for four centuries is the fatal flaw in this bullshit.
