He rushed to judgment on that, I think.Ironclad wrote:Why did the friendly-atheists feel it was them who should help fund the clean up? Really that guilty over the use of the FSM parody, beloved though He is? Vandalism isn't nice at all but I'd let them deal with it, personally. The church lives a tax-free existence and I pay to keep them.

In a non-legal context, spelling differs between countries. The spelling judgement (with e added) is common in the United Kingdom in a non-legal context. The spelling judgment without the e is however often listed first and in any case without comment or regional restriction in major UK dictionaries.[5][6][7] In British English, the spelling judgment is correct when referring to a court's or judge's formal ruling, whereas the spelling judgement is used for other meanings.[8] In American English, judgment prevails in all contexts.[9] In Canada and Australia, in a non-legal context both forms are equally acceptable, although judgment is more common in Canada and judgement in Australia.[10] However, in a legal and theological context, judgment is the only correct form. In New Zealand the form judgment is the preferred spelling in dictionaries, newspapers and legislation, although the variant judgement can also be found in all three categories. In South Africa, judgement is the more common form. The spelling judgment is also found in the Authorized King James Version of the Bible.

I hope you're not going to take that as Gospel. The spelling judgment is also found in the Authorized King James Version of the Bible.

Hmmm... Must be true. Oxford - 'view=uk' - clearly states it that way: 'Pronunciation:/ˈdʒʌdʒm(ə)nt/ (also judgment if'n yer lazy)'Ironclad wrote:I have some material that would at least be close and now that we're actually talking about it, I'll look more closely at it in various light over the next few days.

I dunno - I kinda like the thought of a shear fuck. Sounds sweetly smooth.
To ignore the absence of evidence is the base of true faith.

Now that would be funny! But to much to hope for, methinks - more likely some snotty nose atheist kid who just just learned about the FSM would be my guess.Gawdzilla wrote:I'll feed that to you later, trust me.Seth wrote:I'll just make that assumption until it's proven they didn't.Gawdzilla wrote:Okay, then prove atheists paint that sign.
Reminds me more of split wide open. *Ouch!*nellikin wrote:I dunno - I kinda like the thought of a shear fuck. Sounds sweetly smooth.

I don't know if a sense of guilt was any part of the motivation ... Kinda got the impression it was simply an act of goodwill with perhaps some good PR, for good measure ... which is why I liked it.Ironclad wrote:Why did the friendly-atheists feel it was them who should help fund the clean up? I have no problem with him helping out a parasitical organization if he wants to. I do have a problem with the support his actions give to the idea that atheists did the deed before this was proven.
