The word "Some" is conspicuously absent from the start of that sentence.
It's implied. "All" of any group doesn't do anything. It's always "some."
Not all Nazis killed Jews or supported the final solution, but nobody is hesitant to say "The Nazis killed the Jews..." We know not all of them were involved. It's implied.
But it does imply that "All" of them are responsible. You're tarring all Muslims with the same brush. I know a handful of Muslims fairly well and I'm sure none of them would favour burning bibles, killing cartoonists, etc., etc..
No, I'm not tarring them all with the same brush. We refer, quite often, to Christians doing this, Creationists doing that, Nazis doing this, the KKK doing that, etc. And, we don't see a lot of cautious, tap-dancey, warnings about not "tarring them all with the same brush." All over this board, I've seen references to rednecks, southern Americans, Christians, Americans in general, and many other groups, and we don't see this constant urgent warning about "not tarring them with the same brush." I'll be made to tap-dance and pay extra special care in dealing with Muslims.
It doesn't imply all of anybody is responsible because, just like we say "the Germans invaded Poland" we know, implicitly, that not all Germans were responsible. Or, when we say, "Christians are protesting abortion" or "Catholics oppose contraceptives" we know it's not "all" of them, implicitly.
Agree with you. I like the "so called" pic and choose the words. The "moderate" muslim, if there are such, are too brainwashed to think for themselves. THey let the imams and jihads and whathadds think for them.

What, do all comments need to be relevant? Ignore it if you don't like it.
Just saying that America does plenty of other things besides threatening to burn Korans to piss off the Afghans. We can blame it all on the threat to burn a Koran, but that deep seated anger towards the US includes more than just the Koran burning.

I was listening about this on the radio today, when they interviewed some Xtian in New York. He was asked about the Immam of the proposed Mosque, and was told the Immam believed that the Xtians and Muslims could work together in the community.
The Xtian replied "Yeah, and I believed in fairies and Santa Claus when I was a kid"
Sooo close, but no cigar!

It is of course all Muslims.
If their were no Muslims their could be no "extremist" Muslims. Indeed I would argue that exploding Muslims etc are the responsibility of each and every religionista of whatever faith as they all help legitamise the fundamental basis for the actions of exploding Muslims (that the God thing is real). That means that the little old lady who attends a C of E church in a small village shares some blame for 911.
The SS would have gassed a lot less Jews if the Germans masses had been anti-Nazi (even if indivually most germans would never have actively engaged in the policy). Same with Muslim Fundies and the "moderate" muslims. and the C of E.
I am Leader of all The Atheists in the world - FACT.
Come look inside Santa's Hole
You want to hear the truth about Santa Claus???.....you couldn't handle the truth about Santa Claus!!!

Claus, most of the German people didn't know that gassing was happening, even if they knew the Jews were being rounded up.
There's a reason why a German soldier who took and shared around photos of mass executions was tried by the Nazi Government.
"The fact is that far more crime and child abuse has been committed by zealots in the name of God, Jesus and Mohammed than has ever been committed in the name of Satan. Many people don't like that statement but few can argue with it."

THE DIARY OF THE PROPHET - samples from the Long lost Sira.
Written by Robert Juan Cruz
Lunar day 223:
Got up this morning with a stinking hangover. I’m not sure if it was from drinking camels’ piss all night or whether it was that urn of wine I stole from that Jewish pedlar. ‘Tell you one thing, I’m not taking any more risks, I’m not touching alcohol again. NOTE TO SELF: Tell my followers that alcohol is forbidden.
Abu Bakr came into my tent before noon and started ogling my bloody wife, the dirty old bastard. She’s still only young but she’s passed puberty and has started filling out in all the right places if you know what I mean! Yes, I know it was Aisha, Abu’s own daughter, but he’s a right filthy lech when he’s been on the booze. NOTE TO SELF: Definitely get everyone to lay off the drink!
This afternoon I had two well-wishers pop in for a quick chat and some spiritual advice. Two men from out of town. Dirty old beggars they were. Aisha came in wearing one of her skimpy pieces of sack again. These two beggars couldn’t keep her eyes off her. I told her to cover her bloody tits up. I’m sick of this. I always get the waifs and strays coming in for a bit of a chat but I’m sure that all they’re hoping for is to get a quick flash. NOTE TO SELF: Get Aisha to cover herself up and while I’m at it, all my bloody wives can.

I'm with CES on this. I feel a little vigorous about it.

I live and have lived in communities that are very mixed. Our children play together, the muslim traders are helpful and kind to us. When 9/11 happened, then the war, I was worried our community on both sides would lose touch with knowing each other as people. That has barely happened, we've remained a mixed and peaceful place. The views here that see people I can put a face to as book burning loons just seem profoundly ignorant to me but they are useful, they serve to remind me to bring my child up here, where she will also see people not types.
