Got a bug up my ass evidently. Life is not wonderful right now, it's eat, drive, sleep, repeat ad nauseum and the money ain't going to keep me out of a cardboard box eventually, it just slows the bleeding. I barely see the sun now and in a month I won't see it at all since I'm driving nights and don't get up until after 3 pm and work till 4 am. I love the driving and meeting new people, but business is slow except on the weekends and it doesn't look like I can make enough profit to stay in my house much past April of next year.

rEv, there's no such thing as welfare here, not anymore. Unless you're a single mother, you ain't gonna get shit. I'm on transitional assistance (as it's now called) and get the maximum: $300 a month, plus food stamps (now called SNAP benefits). That's it. And my rent is $600 a month (for a tiny one-room apartment). Benefits may vary from state to state. But unless Seth can get on disability (difficult to do), welfare ain't gonna prevent him from being homeless.

Oh fuck. Although I totally hate most of your opinions, I do feel genuinely sorry for you. Unfortunately all I can do in order to help is to suggest you do an Ayn Rand. She finished up helping herself to social welfare benefits. You too can rationalise such an action. In fact you are most of the way there already, having mentioned how much tax you've paid. Lovely to see adaptation at work. Better than dying, I suppose.

Yeah, I don't doubt that. But you can get reasonable healthcare now. And Seth has a bucketload of cash saved up for medical emergencies. If he used that to survive and relied on Obamacare then he could get by.
