Gin-sharing is a fuck of a lot better basis for starting a religion...

I fully support the recognition of cultural movements as religions. After all, that's all they really are anyways. If we want to have reasonable laws regarding religions, then we first need to see them as just what they are and destroy the "universally sacred." I applaud this new religion's existence, even if I do not agree with their tenants.

"Great nothingness who does not exist,
nameless be thee
for thine is absence, the void and vacuum.
You cannot influence events,
nor is there much reason to speak
since you have no ears to hear.
Nor can you guide us, nor redeem us
or much else,
your non-existence being the
ultimate restriction
for you are naught but a fiction,
a character in a story, but give us anyway
the power to sneer at the religious
for thine is the nothing, the nothing and yet more
nothing. Forever.
Got me?"
Origin
After the first hymn "Deus" by the Sugarcubes we will be reading from The Origin of species and trying to force the Christian daughters we raped into having abortions while reading Das Kapital.
"What started as a legitimate effort by the townspeople of Salem to identify, capture and kill those who did Satan's bidding quickly deteriorated into a witch hunt" Army Man

Insofar as I may be heard by anything, which may or may not care what I say, I ask, if it matters, that you be forgiven for anything you may have done or failed to do which requires forgiveness. Conversely, if not forgiveness but something else may be required to ensure any possible benefit for which you may be eligible after the destruction of your body, I ask that this, whatever it may be, be granted or withheld, as the case may be, in such a manner as to insure your receiving said benefit. I ask this in my capacity as your elected intermediary between yourself and that which may not be yourself, but which may have an interest in the matter of your receiving as much as it is possible for you to receive of this thing, and which may in some way be influenced by this ceremony. Amen.

"Blase the Great" was my favorite. You didn't have to do anything except acknowledge that he was great, once, and you got into Heaven whatever else you did. Converts cycled through the Church so fast the line sometimes trotted. :hehe:

Permutation City? Did you like it? SPOILERS AHEAD!
Trigger Warning!!!1! :
I really enjoyed the first half, but the second seemed to push a Plato inspired view of reality (where consciousness is the ultimate basis for reality rather than reality existing outside of consciousness. That really bothered me, but not enough to ruin the awesome resolution to the story arch of the two stowaways.

Haven't you all sacrificed the author to the great and hungry fire God Barbi yet?

I worship at the shrine of Barbi most weekends. The rule is, one must consume beer at a rate which makes you just capable of completing the searing of the meat; no faster, no slower...

I have practiced for years to achieve BBQ nirvana... :levi:
