Well yes, I'm aware a lot of your religious are of a 'tardness not seen in Europe except in pathetically small numbers but I don't agree with riling them. Campaign to get the religious scenes moved from public places payed with taxpayer money, sure, but putting up images os Satan etc.. is being unnecessarily contentious.

This is probably the most important reason believers have for wanting us to shut up and sit quietly at the back of the bus. They want no change at all, and they intend to get that by promoting "slow, careful, and polite" change. I take my model from the Sixties.

I sometimes think that the fear of how they will act if the restraint of promised damnation is removed motivates some believers to cling tightly to that concept.

And God rewards a religious person by giving him or her wealth. So those slobs that are starving in the streets must not be good Christians and are therefore not worth the effort.
