If concerns about increasing numbers being persuaded and influenced by evangelism (lower case 'e' ... ie, of any creed) are correct, it could very well be reflected in the type of people who are elected, and their influence on policy decisions.

An evangelist and lackey just a minute ago walked into my hospital room - without knocking, I might add - and started his spiel. I recognized at a glance the tracts in his hands and in the hands of the grim-faced old lady behind him. He spoke English pretty well. I interrupted him, politely, and said "No, I'm not interested. I don't believe in God." He kept his ear-to-ear smile as he processed that information. "Ohhhhhh...ohhhhhhh....Are you American?" "Yes." This obviously did not compute. He stood there saying, "Ohhhhh.....ohhhhhhhh....." for a bit longer. I imagined the thought bubble: "American? Doesn't believe in God? What?" I shook my head and waved my good hand, politely, and said very clearly, "No." (minus 'thank you'). He left still smiling but obviously thoroughly confused.

Christianity is not going to be able to compete with football in the UK on a Sunday morning, not now not ever obviously its more than a match for American Football but thats not as good a sport.
And due to the love of Brits getting wasted every weekend down the pub you can forget islam as well. The only religion that has any chance in the UK is one that encourages lots of sex, football and booze

I may be reading you wrong, but you seem to imply that football isn't a religion.

Yeah, Santa is like that, and he does it for everybody, not just those stupid coloured with their silly pagan rites and their disdain for Holy Reason.
