I think the praying person was not a native English speaker, rather than illiterate. Probably from somewhere where belief in possession and demons are on the surface - rather than hidden as in most Western churches.
As for charging for prayers, that's where the RC church made its money in the middle ages. That and indulgences.

Yes I do get the idea that the site is set up to attract non english speaking american residents , there are a few 'prayers' for people to return to the catholic faith ... I guess they feel this is a target audience that are used to paying for god's favours . This makes the site even more reprehensible .If you know about game theory and filters you will know that posting such illiterate unsophisticated 'prayers ' is not just who happens to frequent their site but is actively encouraged by them BECAUSE they know people encouraged by posts like that will be more likely to give them money .
