Obama a christian? No way!

That page nicely sums up christian fundies. They don't understand the difference between knowing something and believing something.
At least Obama seems to have grasped that much.

Heaven will have a beauty beyond our imagination. The best John could do to describe heaven was to say it was like an entire city of transparent gold. He says: The walls of the new city are precious jewels. The gates are twelve single pearls. The city itself and its streets are pure gold, yet like transparent glass. This is found in Revelation 21:18, 19, 21.

That's not a description of heaven. That's a description of the New Jerusalem described in Revelation 21.


Rev. 21:1 -- Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God...." The description of the city of gold is a description of that city, which is on the new Earth, and it is supposed to descend from the new heaven.

So, really, the Bible is very unclear about what heaven is like.

if yer don't beleive in the christian version of the afterlife (principally that there is one) then you are not a beleiver in the christian teachings. therefore are not a christian.

just because I may count up to 10. and maybe even enjoy doing so don't make me an accountant. even if I think it does.

inconveniant for some? maybe. but that's the price of DIY / pick 'n' mix religions.

Of course the established xtian churches nowadays have no choice but to go along with the self-delusion. it's simply a question of numbers.
