You atheists have been shown the evidence you just don't want to see.
27:51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; (27:50-51) "The veil of the temple was rent."
27:52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
27:53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
See? When Jesus died the graves opened and the dead walked amongst the living. Only Jesus could have made that happen. Only he has the power to do such things not mere mortals.
Do you now believe?

I wouldn't count on it. He has probably decided he is doing 'missionary work' in hostile territory. A bit different from telling African natives how to have proper Christian sex in the 19th century, but the same 'witnessing' codswollop.

This stuff earns you heaven points you know. :coffee:
You may be right, but for the time being I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. I really hadn't thought about why he was here, to be honest. But he seems a refreshing change from the usual theists we see. Mind you, I just took my dose of Ritalin recently. When it kicks in, as is has, I get that warm fuzzy I-love-everybody feeling :dono:
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

Why should I? If someone who believes in Zeus wants to talk to me about it I'll try and keep an open mind.
You can see, though, to an outside observer, the evidence for both Jeheova AND Zeus is about the same (Very Old Documents)
and let's not forget the Muslims either, they say their book is their final word, no takey backies cross me heart and kill you if you don't believe. You're not worried you've bet on the wrong dog?
Well I'm not aware of claimed eye witness reports for Zeus in the same way that the Gospels make claims about Jesus.

As for the Muslim faith - there is much that I would probably consider true (I think it is a mistake to divide faiths into "all true" and "all wrong"), but remember that its alternative claims about Jesus were written 600 years after Jesus lived. Why believe those rather than epistles and gospels written in the first century? That would be like me deciding to write a new history of the Tudors today (with Anne Boleyn not actually being beheaded) and saying all the original documents are wrong.
[My Bold}That's a good assumption when it comes to those interested in writing real history but not necessarily when it comes to religion, which has a different agenda. In fact, maybe there is a subconscious part of those who invent new religions, like Islam, to dismiss the scriptures of previous religions as bullshit because they know, deep down, that their new scriptures are bullshit too.

Glad you are feeling chilled Tat! me too - two glasses of Pinot Noire! :shiver:

There are two possible reasons a heavy duty Christian would be here. One, because their doubts were beginning to get t them and they wanted to see what the alternative might be. I really don't think this applies here somehow!

And the second - missionary work. Which is exactly what our deluded religious friend thinks he is doing.

Well there was 3 hours of darkness which descended upon Jerusalem from the hours of 6-9pm so maybe the Romans didn't notice in the dark.
In fact; that's totally plausible.
27:45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.

Or maybe it's more prosaic - maybe I just like a good discussion with people who think differently from me?

From Scroll Q4

[Blessed is] …with a pure heart
and does not slander with his tongue.

Blessed are those who hold to her [Wisdom’s] precepts
And do not hold to the ways of iniquity.

Blessed are those who rejoice in her,
And do not burst forth in ways of folly.

Blessed are those who seek her with pure hands,
And do not pursue her with a treacherous heart.

Blessed is the man who has attained Wisdom,
And walks in the Law of the Most High.

He directs his heart towards her ways,
And restrains himself by her corrections,
And always takes delight in her chastisements.

He does not forsake her when he sees distress,
Nor abandon her in time of strain.

He will not forget her [on the day of] fear,
And will not despise [her] when his soul is afflicted.
For always he will meditate on her,
And in his distress he will consider [her]

No. The other Resurrection stories are told from a different point of view. When you put all the stories together it makes loads of sense. It's like Pulp Fiction with different bits happening before other bits but it all comes together.

Ah, so you can pick-and-choose amongst the bits and decide which parts are right for you?
