Atheist challenge to "under god" booted by SCOTUS...again

Faith Beat Again: Supreme Court Rejects Atheist Agitator

The Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF), the same group that brought us the indispensable ”DeBaptismal Certificate,“ hit a roadblock Monday when its appeal to omit the phrase ”under god” from the Pledge of Allegiance was denied review by U.S. Supreme Court justices.
"Seth is Grandmaster Zen Troll who trains his victims to troll themselves every time they think of him" Robert_S

"All that is required for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." Edmund Burke

"Those who support denying anyone the right to keep and bear arms for personal defense are fully complicit in every crime that might have been prevented had the victim been effectively armed." Seth

The justices denied review Monday, without comment
That's terrible. Too scared or arrogant to even give a reason.

Dat's okay, NBC edited "under God" out of a pledge of allegiance at a gold tournament the other day. :hehe:

And got hammered for it in the press and had to apologize to the viewing public for doing so. Money talks, bullshit walks.

So, the religious right has the money, so they make the rules?

No, consumers persuade companies to do what pleases consumers by granting or withholding their custom. NBC is not government and doesn't make rules that consumers have to abide by.

As for the court case, the court acknowledged that "under God" is a tradition in this nation that does not infringe on any non-existent "right to freedom from religion" and is in fact an expression of freedom of religion protected by the First Amendment.

The entire Pledge of Allegiance needs to be struck and discontinued, except for private ceremonies.

Should I be attending something and it comes up, I just don't recite it.
But here’s the thing about rights. They’re not actually supposed to be voted on. That’s why they’re called rights. ~Rachel Maddow August 2010

The Second Amendment forms a fourth branch of government (an armed citizenry) in case the government goes mad. ~Larry Nutter
