This was in his obituary: "And Tony would like you to know that he is not going to any particular place or doing any 'crossing over' of any kind."
I thought that it was brilliant.
What was astonishing is reading through the blog page of his death (he was a philanthropist and had some notoriety); how many people have said, "I never would have guessed that he was an atheist". That would not have caught my attention in and of itself...it was why they never thought that he was an atheist.
Since he gave so freely of himself, donated time and energy to humanitarian endeavors and did not shove his beliefs down other people's throats, it is simply "shocking" for him to have been an atheist, apparently.
I am reading some of the responses on the blog and am being confronted with some false stereotypes and I must say I am a wee bit offended.
Here is to you Tony...may live in a way that follows your footsteps.
