Re: The Powah of Prayah!
Now I wanna win the lottery and feed off of those unanswered prayers so I can be all evil!
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

The Net is best considered analogous to communication with disincarnate intelligences. As any neophyte would tell you. Do not invoke that which you have no facility to banish.

I knew I should have taken more calculus in college.
(And I highly doubt all the money gets won; first, it's essentially a Ponzi scheme like social security, second, the odds are set such that the house always gets a percentage, win or lose, just like a bookie. Now, I have no clue what the OP means, but that doesn't stop me from foaming at the mouth and opening more beers.)

Re: The Powah of Prayah!
On the desk beside my keyboard I have a free 'newspaper' which was shoved through my letterbox last night entitled 'Good News'. Among the front page stories are 'Jane Russell was a Bible believing 'babe'', 'Barack Obama tells the world he is a Christian', 'Soul surfer' (about a surfer girl who lot her arm to a shark but still believes in Jebus), and the main story - 'CHILE MINER TELLS MIRACLE STORY'.
This story covers much of page two as well and contains the wonderful line, 'When it became obvious that only a miracle would save the men Jose (the 'pastor') was asked to lead them in prayer'. This, it seems and not the wonderful feat of engineering that people on the surface managed to execute, was the cause of their rescue..
Jose is now travelling the world (and doing rather well for himself from the looks) to quote the article - 'After experiencing God so powerfully Jose is travelling the world to tell others about the living god who answers prayer'.
FUCK OFF!
Paper now in bin!
