Excuse me, but I do have feelings, you know. Damn it, I feel like a black man in a white man's world.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

I found that this explained a lot: http://rationalia.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... 37#p701637
"The internet is made of people. People matter. This includes you. Stop trying to sell everything about yourself to everyone. Don’t just hammer away and repeat and talk at people—talk TO people. It’s organic. Make stuff for the internet that matters to you, even if it seems stupid. Do it because it’s good and feels important. Put up more cat pictures. Make more songs. Show your doodles. Give things away and take things that are free." - Maureen J

"...anyone who says it’s “just the Internet” can :pawiz: . And then when they come back, they can :pawiz: again." - Tigger

That's correct. Faith does not equal morality. People who have faith do not behave more morally than people who don't have faith. In fact, the statistics show that people without faith behave more in line with the morality of people of faith than the people of faith themselves do. Atheists, for example, are rarer in the prison population than in the general population. The atheist divorce rate is lower than the faithful divorce rate (divorce being immoral to many Christians and others, or immoral in certain circumstances). The countries with the highest percentages of atheists statistically have the lowest crime rates.

Of course, if morality is defined as "obedience to god(s)" then all bets are off, since then Abraham's act of scaring the shit out of his son by strapping him to a blood soaked and reeking altar and holding a sacrificial knife to the kid's throat, in god's mercy, was "moral."

But, yes, a person may believe they draw their goodness from their faith.
