Is there anything more arrogant and patronising than...
"I'll pray for you" ?

Yes.
"The fact is that far more crime and child abuse has been committed by zealots in the name of God, Jesus and Mohammed than has ever been committed in the name of Satan. Many people don't like that statement but few can argue with it."

There might be, but we'll pray for you anyway.

But seriously, context determines everything.
If I'm about to go in to life-threatening surgery and a good friend says "I'll pray for you" then it might be idiotically pointless but it's hardly arrogant or patronising.

Someone was saying these kinds of things on another forum (a cricket charity site)
"Oh, and God still loves you - he doesn't need you to believe in him for that"
Me "unwanted love is scary and makes me all insecure , could you please tell him that?"
him - "Will do - and will continue praying for you."
Pffft - why do people seem so insistent on sharing their imaginary friends?

You have to believe or their position is threatened. They are insecure enough to worry about that.GenesForLife wrote:Someone was saying these kinds of things on another forum (a cricket charity site)

They have to. If they don't they aren't doing their duty and will go to hell.
