How's the local branch of RC inc. doing in your neck of the woods?
Is this a world wide trend?

In Sweden, abuse cases seem to have been relatively sparse, but:
The archbishop cries out: help us, oh government!
Government minister: Nonsense! Now get a grip on and straighten yourselves out!

I have an economical bailout plan for all Christians, and it is guaranteed to IMMEDIATELY save each and every one of them 10% on their current income.
Abolish the fucking Church, which means you don't have to tithe, and voila - 10% in your pocket. That way the church's problems are also done away with.
I expect nothing less than a Nobel Prize for this.

So you are saying that the reason why God created the universe, including millions of years of human and animal suffering, and the extinction of most species, is so that at the end of all of that a select few humans could be with him forever. I see.

You Sir, are a genius.

Re: Is this a world wide trend?
The catholic diocese in Wilmington (Delaware) has filed for bankruptcy because of all the lawsuits they're facing over multiple child-diddling adventures embarked on over 40+ years by one of their former bishops. A lot of the lay employees (who probably had nothing to do with any of the scandals or cover-ups) are fearing for their jobs right now. The church leaders will, of course, retain their positions.
Who needs a signature anyway?
Re: Is this a world wide trend?
Unless they'd no other alternative, they shouldn't have been working with the Church in the first place, not after the abuse came out.
"The fact is that far more crime and child abuse has been committed by zealots in the name of God, Jesus and Mohammed than has ever been committed in the name of Satan. Many people don't like that statement but few can argue with it."
