Creationist Reptile Speaker

Post by GoodSmeagol » Tue Mar 23, 2010 1:47 am

BAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
Today at work, we had a lady in doing pictures of the management team.
After she was done I was helping her breakdown her gear.
Mentioned I keep reptiles, a lot of them.
She then talked about how she sends her kids to a creationist speaker who 'educated' kids on scripture and reptiles.
And then why the hell this would be in a reptile show, mentioned "you dont believe me?, go check out verse blah blah"
WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!
So angry I was at work and could not speak my mind.

I wanted to ask if he talked about talking snakes, and whether he had any of that sort to show the kids.

GOD DAMN FUCKIN BULL SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok thanks for the rant, I am calm again.

Yes, that really irks. It doesn't seem to stop the twit with the idiotic world view expressing it, though, does it?

True, but it is the 'accepted' worldview a lot of the time.
If I had spoken my mind, it probably would have just caused drama at work.
Even though I was seriously irked, I just said oh yeh, alright, and tried changing the subject, figured it would be easier then dealing with any after math of it :(

Sad world we live in some times...

Which has started several conversations. They asked, I answered I find it easier that way, at least at work.

Sounds about right, I might have been ignorant enough to listen to bullshit stories to see reptiles in my youth...

I think you should be the one to teach children the truth about lizards: that they come from outer space.

I wonder if he had any connection with those religious weirdos who dance ecstatically holding poisonous snakes?

I've spent a lot of time around creationists with kids (sad and awful), and believe me, there are whackos out there who'll give talks on Creationism + anything. You're a reigiously conservative parent who wants your kids to learn about dugongs? No worries, there's a guy at The Church Of Jesus Christ Almighty who gives a great Creationism + Marine Mammals talk.

Bleurgh.

I saw the thread title and though "yeah, most of them are reptiles".
I have nothing against God. It's his fan club I can't stand.
