Re: Sharia law
I think it makes perfect sense.
What if the case comes to trial and a woman is on her moons? - it makes perfect sense to have another one handy who won't cry and call the judge an inconsiderate bastard for no reason.

I gotta agree with you man. If you and I had a dollar (or whatever that play-money you use in Ireland is) for every time we've been falsely accused of rape we'd be billionaries

I think it's more about dissipating power. Men like being in charge.Ayaan wrote:Another explanation I've heard is that women are emotional and illogical, so you need at least two of them to confirm each other's story.Rumertron wrote:The logic provided by the idiot twat I was listening to on the radio this morning (on Sunday - Radio 4s religious programme) was that women are so busy with domestic tasks and children that it is easy for them to forget details.FBM wrote:It's perfectly logical, innit? I almost threw a dog at the radio I was so angry at the sheer ignorance of such people.Yet another way religion denigrates women.

I know we're pissing about, but really this actually disgusts me and it's one of the main factors that lead me to go from an apathetic agnostic to a "militant" atheist.
