Abrahamic faiths are based on the old testament

The old testament tells people not to worship any other deities

in other words, the old testament implies that there were other deities

therefore, its presumption of monotheism is null and void

I know, but why would a "God" be concerned about something that would not exist? If Christians say they have their One True God, the extrapolation would also make other deities real, so, there you go

The OT doesn't imply there are other deities - it just tells humans not to worship other deities - it doesn't say whether those deities are real or imagined, so I reckon that God was having a go at misplaced worhip by fallible humans rather than real gods.
