Re: Tolstoy's "My Confession": Where do you fit in?
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

I now want to read this book it intrigues me greatly.
The Pope was today knocked down at the start of Christmas mass by a woman who hopped over the barriers. The woman was said to be, "Mentally unstable."Trolldor wrote:Ahh cardinal Pell. He's like a monkey after a lobotomy and three lines of cocaine.
Which is probably why she went unnoticed among a crowd of Christians.

I see Tolstoy went for a one then. I will stick to two. Life is too short not to enjoy it.
Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

Re: Tolstoy's "My Confession": Where do you fit in?
I read my confession it was an excellent book and interestingly the article had mashed together two seperate parts of the book that have nothing to do with each other. Not to mention like as someone who said before that it was crap he too agreed in the end that the 4 things people are crap.
