I Like This Preascher

Post by Robert_S » Sun Jun 17, 2012 4:27 am

What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

I like what he's saying, but how he says it just leaves me exhausted. I had to keep reminding myself to breathe.
"A philosopher is a blind man in a dark room looking for a black cat that isn't there. A theologian is the man who finds it." ~ H. L. Mencken

"We ain't a sharp species. We kill each other over arguments about what happens when you die, then fail to see the fucking irony in that."

Don't do drugs for long enough and you can talk like that guy too!

I like that kind of impassioned public speech actually. There's something very musical to it.

He seems to have got quite a mixed response to what he was saying. Mhhh, Dallas, Texas.

Reminds me of Mohammed Ali. A bit. But this guy sounds less natural with it.

I like WHAT he said more than how he said it.
