I
chose to see this as an opportunity, and I suggest that many, many others should do the same. I used the
contact form on their site to submit a short, friendly, helpful message volunteering to participate. I even created a special gmail account for just for it.
(I really did submit this, with the appropriate secular answer for the security question, but there was no feedback to indicate whether it was sent or not. If I don't get a reply by lunchtime tomorrow I'll probably re-submit.)
Who needs a signature anyway?

*in*an*awed*voice* Wicked!

"The internet is made of people. People matter. This includes you. Stop trying to sell everything about yourself to everyone. Don’t just hammer away and repeat and talk at people—talk TO people. It’s organic. Make stuff for the internet that matters to you, even if it seems stupid. Do it because it’s good and feels important. Put up more cat pictures. Make more songs. Show your doodles. Give things away and take things that are free." -

I submitted a response on their website as follows:
"I am contacting you regarding your adopt an atheist campaign.
I am an atheist as it happens and I would like to participate in this project in the hope that I can see the light if I try, but I wonder if you could tell me why I should link to your brand of Christianity, given there seem to be so many variations on the theme of God sacrificing his son to save us from ourselves. And come to think of it why I should choose Christianity as opposed to say, Buddhism, Islam or Mazdakism as a route to personal salvation?
Thanking you in anticipation of a complicated and mind bending response".

Anybody want to submit the standard "We have come for your daughters!"?
