An anti-smoking advertisement showing teenagers in a pose suggesting fellatio with a cigarette has caused an uproar in France, with critics arguing it is offensive and suggests a false analogy between oral sex and smoking.

The pic in your sig really goes with the ad.

longer lips, so she can get further without being hindered by the belly?
I don't like smoking and there once was a photo used of a smoker being a suicide bomber. I really liked it and will look for it.

Is it just me or are the guy and the gal the same person?

I think it is a pretty clever campaign, even if it is a little distasteful. It does sum up the irony of people who view their smoking as an expression of freedom when they are setting themselves up for a costly addiction.

Dammit, the organization has started using a different promotional picture and I really liked the other one better, but this is theirs now

A little far-fetched - I'm not the least bit offended, but I don't think it's a very effective ad. All I could think of when I saw that ad was Monica Lewinsky.
There are a lot of people who like to be slaves.

I've never seen any anti-smoking advert being effective. It's not like smokers don't know it is bad for them.

I feel stupid. I can't see what the advert is getting at at all. How are smoking and fellatio related? What point is it trying to make?

Nobody did complain about the analogy of being "blessed" by a priest? That's what I thought... What a wonderful atheist campaign...
Being religious is being a slave...

It does look a little bit rapey.
(I have almost no french, does it say "Smokers, they are the slave to tobacco"?)

The caption says "Smoking is being a slave to tobacco"
I think the operative part of the image is the hand on the back of their heads "forcing" them to perform fellatio.
