'We' are up against people who could not organise a pissup in a whiskey distillery. Weirdly that makes them even more dangerous.Gawdzilla wrote:http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091226/ap_ ... isturbance

I'm reading that and the first thing coming into my mind is the episode of mythbusters where they show how an insecticide? and sugar solution soaked into clothing burned extremely vigorously, and with popping sounds IIRC.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

A preliminary analysis of the device shows that it contained PETN, also known as pentaerythritol, according the affidavit filed in federal court in Detroit.DP wrote:I'm wondering if that is what this guy used?Gawdzilla wrote:They also made an explosive out of coffee creamer. *wipes tear* My little boys are all growed up.DP wrote:I'm reading that and the first thing coming into my mind is the episode of mythbusters where they show how an insecticide? and sugar solution soaked into clothing burned extremely vigorously, and with popping sounds IIRC.
