The American cup is a cooking thing, right?

The relatively new (to the America's Cup) hydrofoil boats are impressive--they can get up to around twice the speed of the wind. I remember watching the races held in San Francisco Bay in 2013 when they were first introduced--rather entertaining.

I prefer the old big boats.

Aye, for aesthetics I'd go with the original schooners but it's about speed under sail, not aesthetics.

I watched pre-foils and while the start was exciting - the rest was paint drying.
Now it is F1 and closed course that people can watch from shore and online.
The next round of tri-foil 100' boats will circumnavigate the globe in under 40 days.
They outrun the waves in the Southern Ocean !
Rich guys can't afford America's Cup boats....big corporations barely can.
